Services I Will Provide for You

Web Page Layout & Design:

I'll layout and design the entire site to your specifications including writing the Hypertext Markup Language (htm code) required by Internet browsers such as Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc. You provide any logos, art work or photos you desire, or leave the custom art work to me.

Online Links and Advertising:

All possible text or graphics will be linked to other local sites as well as those sites you have a particular interest in which others might find valuable. Your site can also be posted with various chat areas and newsgroups of your choosing.

Update and Maintenance:

For as long as our agreement specifies, I will continuously update and maintain the site following your specifications, as frequently as needed, to facilitate the most effective online advertising.

Your Personal Online Setup:

If you are not currently online or you currently use a server that you (or I) feel may not be satisfactory, I will set you up with the most cost efficient ISP to your area with local phone access numbers, and give assistance for the installation of your browser software on your system if necessary. I've found that a local ISP dial up is the quickest and most economical way to access the World Wide Web. Your Site's Address:
I can either assist you with setting up an exclusive Internet Domain Name, (www.yourname.com) or setting up a less expensive personal directory utilizing a host server address. Real Life Advertising:
If you require any real life advertising, such as flyers, newspaper ads, etc., the design can be done directly from my office in order to make sure the Web site address is advertised.

Oh, by the way...My Other Secretary is NOT an Internet Service Provider (ISP). That means I do NOT provide dial up access to the internet. I DO design and maintain Web Sites, and host smaller size sites on my WWW.BELVIDERE.NET domain for local Belvidere and Boone County businesses and organizations. If you want a web site, but choose not to have it hosted on the BELVIDERE.NET domain, no problem. You will need to sign up with an ISP that can host the site I design for you. I can assist you in determining an appropriate ISP for your needs, or you can choose yourself.  PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT design or maintain sites hosted on America On Line due to the many irritating qualities of AOL.   All telephone charges, ISP fees, third party web hosting fees and domain registration fees are excluded from my bids, and are your sole responsibility.
      If you plan on choosing your own ISP, I strongly recommend you compare several companies for cost, easy dial up, local call versus long distance calls, and amount for directory space allowed (also if number of hits per month is limited or charged for). Consider carefully which company you want for your ISP. Many do not have adequate directory space for complicated or larger web sites, or do not password protect those directories. Many do not allow Commercial/Business Web sites unless you pay extra - personal web sites are usually at no cost. That is not generally the case with commercial sites. Other's don't support various features you may want later, like additional e-mail boxes, or give adequate customer support for uploading their files to their directory. Also, dial up service with complimentary web hosting space is not designed for people who wish to have their own domain. Hosting of personal registered domain web sites is usually a minimum of $25.00 and up per month over and above your dial up connection account fee.

       Internet Explorer 5.0 (or higher) and Netscape Navigator 4.0 (or higher) are my recommended browsers, both of which are available off the Internet for free currently.
