Welcome

Times are hard, regardless of what the "media" says, and I believe we need to accept that if things are going to get better for any of us, it will take all of us working together to improve our situation, and that starts at home, on the local level.

I'm running for re-election because I believe in basic common sense, in being fiscally conservative, you might say "cheap". We have, as individuals, learned to make do with less, and local government has to do the same. It may mean longer lines at the County Clerk's office, or slower response to inquiries about permits, but we cannot afford to spend any more than we are now. The County Board has tried to cut the budget to the bone, and we may have to reduce or eliminate some services in 2012 and 2013, but we all know we have to do what it takes to get through tough times. It is what it is, let's not try to sugar-coat it. Raising taxes just isn't an option for me, period.

Tough decisions have to be made, and the health, safety and well being of our people must be protected. I can, and will do what it takes to keep any additional burden off taxpayers, and make needed cuts where it is feasible and responsible to keep our most important services intact, and protect what is vitally important to the people of Boone County.

If you agree this view is correct, I ask for your support - not with money, but with your vote. Times are hard for my family, just like yours. You won't see me running lots of ads, or sending out mailers, or... heaven forbid, making robo-calls to your house. I have no intention of spending a lot of money on my campaign - I don't have it to spend, and neither do you. I think too much money is wasted on campaigning. All I ask is that you attend any debates I'll be participating in, hear what I have to say, and hopefully, I'll earn your vote. Or just call me or email me and talk to me about what is important to you. I promise I'll listen, and I'll learn from everyone I speak to.

Please help me in my journey to restore common sense and fiscal responsibility to the Boone County Boardroom.

I can't afford to spend money on a campaign, and neither can you!
I DON"T WANT YOUR MONEY, DON"T SEND ME MONEY!
What I DO need, and can certainly use is volunteer help to get the word out. If you feel you'd like to support me as a volunteer, I'd love your help!
If you could help me with finding and confirming yard sign locations, talking to your friends, family and neighbors in District 2, organizing "meet and greets" for me in your neighborhood, I'd be very grateful!

Whether it's your church, school, local food pantry or any other agency, you can make a difference in the lives of people in Boone County. Look around, ask questions, and find out where your special talents can do the most good!

Vote in the General Election!

I know times are tough, and everyone is busy. But there is one way everyone can help - PLEASE VOTE! - that will be the greatest help of all! Please, please don't ignore this critically important Election - Make your voice heard!

I don't believe in partisan politics, and I have no political allegiance to any person or group. I belong to no "good old boy club", and I am not, and will not be beholding to anyone except the tax payers and voters of Boone County. That's a promise.
